DJ Technical Rider Checklist

Turn the rider into a confirmed production plan instead of a PDF nobody checks.

A DJ technical rider describes the minimum working conditions for the performance. The useful promoter response is not simply 'rider received' but a line-by-line confirmation of equipment, booth, monitoring, power and changeover.

Check the playback and mixer setup

Confirm exact mixer model, number and model of players, firmware where relevant, link/network setup and spare channels.

  • Exact model numbers, not 'Pioneer setup'
  • Enough players for the performance format
  • Tested cables and network/link connections

Confirm booth monitoring

A loud front-of-house system does not replace proper booth monitors. Check position, independent level control and whether the DJ can hear the mix clearly.

RELEVANT REDHEAD ARTISTS

Booking options connected to this topic

The guide comes first. If the brief turns into an actual booking, these active Redhead artists are among the roster options that connect with this event context.

Booth dimensions and stability

The table must be stable, level and high enough to work comfortably. Decorative furniture is not a substitute for a production-ready booth.

Power and backups

Use reliable, protected power and avoid overloading shared circuits. Keep spare USB media, audio cables and a backup playback path appropriate to the event.

Sign off substitutions

If the requested equipment is unavailable, send the exact alternative before the show. A surprise substitution during changeover is one of the easiest ways to create stress.

PROMOTER FAQ

Quick answers

Is a standard CDJ setup always enough?

No. Many artists have specific mixer, player-count or connectivity requirements. Always check the current rider.

Who should approve equipment substitutions?

The artist or their authorised representative/agency should approve meaningful substitutions before the event.

Do DJs need a soundcheck?

Not always a full soundcheck, but the booth, monitoring, playback and inputs should be tested before performance.
